Requirements

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
  • An official transcript may be required upon request.
  • Preferred majors include: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Civil Engineering.
  • Preferred coursework includes: Math, Physics, Statics, Dynamics, Machine Design, Engineering Design, Electrical Circuit.
  • Skills in AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, and/or Solidworks preferred.
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2025.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing.
  • Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieves engineering data/information from SharePoint, MAXIMO, and develops Engineering drawings/documentation and PowerPoint presentations of technical data for business planning.
  • Supports testing and troubleshooting of Ride & Show elements.
  • Generates Engineering calculations to support theories.
  • Develops an understanding of presentations developed from an Engineering and/or Business aspect.
  • Understands basic Engineering practices from request to resolution.
  • Learns theory of integrated systems, QC processes, manufacturing processes, and Engineering drafting practices.
  • Develops an understanding of Engineering data collection, requiring some field work.
  • Develops Engineering drawings & documentation.
  • Supports park operations through engineering records and documentation, calculations, CAD drafting, and more.
  • Learns the fundamentals for Control Systems from PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, Servo Motors, etc.
  • Develops an understanding of Engineering commissioning support including troubleshooting, test and adjust period and proper change documentation.
  • Creates guidelines for troubleshooting, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
