What is the duration of the internship?
The internship is expected to start in May 2025 and continue through the entire Summer term, which may extend into Fall 2025 if available. A minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, is required for most internships.
Are international students eligible to apply for this position?
Yes, but applicants must consult their school regarding their ability to work 40 hours per week if their work authorization is through CPT.
What kind of projects will the intern work on?
The intern will work on automating equipment used in the production of materials for Tesla Battery Cells, including maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving control systems for cathode manufacturing.
What qualifications are required for this internship?
Candidates must be currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Is programming experience necessary for this internship?
While programming skills are required, experience with DCS and PLC platforms is considered a plus.
What skills are necessary for this position?
Candidates should have familiarity with P&IDs, PFDs, electrical, and mechanical schematics, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
