What is the duration of the internship program?
The internship program lasts for 10 weeks, starting from June 9th, 2025, to August 15th, 2025, with some flexibility if needed.
Where are the internship locations?
The internship locations are in Austin and New York.
What kind of projects will interns be working on?
Interns will work on real quantitative problems related to improving Virtu’s trading algorithms, applying their analysis and research skills to large trading data sets.
What kind of training is provided during the internship?
Interns will receive ongoing training throughout the summer, with a dedicated training week held in either New York or Austin.
Are there any perks included in the internship?
Yes, perks vary by location and may include an onsite gym and workout classes, an onsite barista, weekly happy hours/social events, breakfast and lunch, and transportation.
What qualifications are required for the internship?
Applicants should have an advanced degree (preferably a PhD) in Science, Math, Engineering, or another quantitative field, along with strong quantitative and programming skills.
What programming languages should applicants be proficient in?
Applicants should have strong programming skills, particularly in C/C++ and Python, as well as familiarity with Pandas.
How will the recruitment process be conducted?
After an initial resume screening, candidates will be asked to complete an online programming test via Hackerrank. Following the test review, suitable candidates will be contacted for next steps.
What is the salary range for this internship?
The salary range for the internship is between $4,500 and $5,500 weekly, exclusive of sign-on bonuses, housing, meals, benefits, or other forms of compensation.
