What is the duration of the internship?
The internship is expected to start in May 2025 and continue through the entire Summer term, which may extend into Fall 2025 if available, with a minimum commitment of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site.
Are international students eligible to apply for this internship?
Yes, international students can apply, but if their work authorization is through CPT, they should consult their school regarding the ability to work 40 hours per week before applying.
What type of projects will the intern be working on?
The intern will work on conceptualizing, designing, managing, and creating various documents such as installation manuals, service manuals, commissioning guides, and software walk-throughs, for multiple audiences in the energy sector.
What qualifications are required for this internship?
Candidates should be pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline such as Technical Writing, English, Communication, or Engineering, and must possess strong technical writing skills along with exemplary verbal and written communication abilities.
Will the intern need to interact with products hands-on?
Yes, the intern will interact directly with hardware and/or software products to gain a deeper understanding of how they work, which will help in creating more effective content.
What tools or experience would be beneficial for this role?
Experience with topic-based (DITA) authoring tools and writing about hardware or engineering topics would be beneficial for this internship.
