Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Information Technology or the equivalent of 4 years of related professional experience in Information Technology.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in Information Technology.
  • 5+ years of technical experience in M365 Services
  • 5+ years of experience working with networks, storage management, servers and platform services in recoverability, redundancy and high availability architecture.
  • 5+ years of experience translating business requirements into technical requirements.
  • 3+ years of experience in a mid-level engineering role.
  • 3+ years of experience specializing in IT infrastructure. 1+ years of experience working in Agile projects.
  • 5+ years of strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage vendors, interfaces and processes.
  • 5+ years of knowledge of Cloud architecture, network operations, databases, programming, data analytics, enterprise IT, end-user device deployments and/or information systems.
  • 5+ years of knowledge of Cloud architecture and/or virtualization technology.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions.
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week)
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.

Responsibilities

  • Performs setup and maintenance of IT Infrastructure with general guidance from senior resources.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for technology platform and provides recommendations and best practices for current and future system recommendations.
  • Integrates multi-vendor solutions, utilizing a vendor agnostic approach to design.
  • Monitors capacity and prepares forecasts and recommendations for scalability.
  • Ensures system availability, redundancy, backups and recoverability (installations, upgrades, patches, preventative maintenance, high availability, etc.) by steering operational processes surrounding Infrastructure operations.
  • Collaborates and supports complex technical projects in an enterprise IT environment and ensures long-term requirements of systems management and planning are met.
  • Documents systems design, configuration, and best practices through lessons learned.
  • Takes action based on all metrics and reports related to IT services and support to ensure the stability and security of the IT environment platforms.
  • Facilitates infrastructure lifecycle to ensure business continuity and reduced risk to operations.
  • Works collaboratively within the global Infrastructure network; domain/product owners, operations managers and technical teams to ensure standards, operations processes and procedures are aligned and followed.
  • Ensures overall adherence to the BMW Group Strategy.
  • Establishes and maintains technical security architecture, availability, overall performance and maintenance activities.
  • Provides technical direction to contractors, providers, and associates to ensure service delivery and complete customer satisfaction. Manages all ITIL processes and tools for infrastructure such as change, incident, and configuration management.
  • Presents a wide array of infrastructure topics and solutions in various group settings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Negotiates project schedules, scope and budget with key stakeholders. Develops and or analyzes reports to ensure SLAs are met and all processes are followed.
  • Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts. Stays up to date on future innovations, technical trends and applies this to direct future changes.
  • Exhibits high level of customer service, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, working face-to-face, remote, and on-site with customers.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
