Interested in developing a long-term role in the upstream Linux kernel community.

Responsibilities

We are looking to recruit a small number of interns to work with our team in Cambridge, UK. For this role, we are particularly open to those looking to make their first steps in kernel development, an extremely dynamic and open environment. Each intern will be mentored by one of the existing team helping with ramping up in kernel development and upstream open-source community engagement. Exact projects will depend on the interests of the intern but examples may include: (a) Emulation (QEMU) and kernel development to support a new feature in a standard such as CXL or ACPI. (b) Developing a test framework to evaluate a proposal from the upstream or research community (emulation, or simulating using real hardware)
The aim of the internship is both to make a useful contribution to our team and to introduce the intern to work with the open-source community.
Given the close interactions expected between the candidate and existing team members, this role is primarily on-site in Huawei’s Cambridge Research Centre only.
