What is the duration of the L6 Degree Apprentice Cardiac Physiologist program?
The program lasts for 3 years.
What type of qualification will I receive upon completion of the apprenticeship?
You will receive an AHCS accredited degree in Healthcare Science (Cardiology).
Where will the university studies be conducted?
University studies will be conducted at the Middlesex University (Hendon Campus).
How is the training structured in relation to university and work?
The apprenticeship involves 2 days a week of study at the university during term weeks, with the remainder of the time spent at Northwick Park Hospital.
What are the typical working hours for this position?
The typical working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, with some required flexibility due to clinical and university placements.
Will I receive financial support for my university fees and education costs?
Yes, the Trust will cover university fees and education costs via the national Apprenticeship levy.
What kind of supervision will I receive during clinical practice?
You will actively participate under supervision while performing a range of cardiac investigations.
What specific tasks will I be performing as part of my clinical responsibilities?
You will participate in performing cardiac investigations such as ECGs, Holter monitoring, exercise stress tests, pacemaker follow-ups, pacemaker implants, and haemodynamic monitoring.
