Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's Degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Preference will be given to those who have previous internship or work experience.
  • A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a bias toward action and a passion for delivering high-quality data solutions
  • Strong Computer Science background with academic or real-world experience in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, or other related fields.
  • Experience with Python Machine Learning and Jupyter Notebooks
  • Experience with PowerBI (or equivalent such as Tableau)
  • Strong SQL data querying skills
  • Familiarity with Time Series analysis, Bayesian analysis, and statistical modeling
  • Excellent written communication and technical writing skills
  • Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).

Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into technical solutions by developing machine learning models to address specific business challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with the Data Engineering team to design, develop, and productionize data pipelines for solving real-world ML problems.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of your ML models to ensure accuracy and reliability of the solutions.
  • Leverage the Calix data pipelines to prototype, design, develop, and deliver predictive solutions using PowerBI.
  • Continuously document project concepts, design decisions, and thought processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on project progress, potential challenges, and solution strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular updates on project status.
