Description

  • This role will focus on developing the strategy & go-to-market model for bespoke deals that only members can access. This includes assessing the market on “where to play” by driving data-driven recommendations on the categories and partners that will create value for our members and create differentiation compared to other financial services providers. It also includes developing recommendations on “how to win” by assessing go-to-market opportunities across paid, owned and earned media choices that will increase awareness, appeal and usage of our spend better offerings.  
  • This role will work across multiple internal teams including strategic partnerships, the business unit and product & design. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic thinker who can work cross-functionally, sets a compelling vision and delivers compelling data-based recommendations.   

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited US-based university (working towards a Master’s degree) studying marketing, management, finance or related business fields with an expected graduation date of Spring 2025
  • Must be returning to school for at least one quarter or semester after the internship
  • Have at least 3+ years of work experience in a business-related field
  • Must be willing to relocate to either NYC or San Francisco Bay Area and be available to work in their respective offices
  • Must be attending a US-based university for positions in the US
  • Must be a US citizen
  • A passion for our mission of helping people achieve their financial goals
  • Strong analytical abilities (SoFi is a data-driven company) and proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and Powerpoint/Google Slides
  • Effective communication
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail

Responsibilities

  • Assess the potential of categories and partners that determine “where to play”. This will include competitive benchmarking, external market assessment, and consumer preference. Deliver recommendations on the sequencing and structure for the most critical partnerships.
  • Assess the opportunities and deliver recommendations of “how to win” in these categories by raising awareness, appeal & usage of the offerings. This will include recommendations on the role of discounts, rewards points, and other types of unconventional value propositions that SoFi can offer to members.
  • Develop cross-functional partnerships by soliciting input and alignment on recommendations based on financial and technical feasibility and consumer appeal.
