What will be my main responsibilities as a Mechanical Engineering Intern?
You will perform hands-on mechanical experiments, research and analyze literature, reverse engineer products, design test fixtures using SolidWorks, collect and analyze test data, and participate in design reviews and consumer insight activities.
Is prior experience required for this position?
Yes, prior engineering intern or cooperative education experience is required.
What educational qualifications do I need to apply?
You must be a current junior or senior working towards a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
What is the required minimum GPA for applicants?
A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
Will I need to travel during the internship?
Yes, there may be mid-workday travel between the laboratory location and the corporate office, which is approximately 3 miles, once daily.
What software will I be using in this internship?
You will primarily be using SolidWorks 2023 for designing test fixtures, specimens, and prototypes.
Are there any physical requirements for this position?
Yes, you must be able to lift 50 lbs.
What skills are important for this role?
Important skills include mechanical inclination, hands-on problem solving, safe use of hand tools, CAD experience, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
Will I receive mentorship during the internship?
