Requirements

You'll need to have completed at least one year of study and to be on track to receive a minimum of a 2:1 in MEng or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent subject. Your academic qualification must be accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
Any offer is subject to a satisfactory medical.

Responsibilities

Your development programme will be made up of one or two placement rotations. Here's an idea of what your programme could look like:
Placement 1 - Depot Operational Engineering
Learn how to apply root-cause analysis
Carry out hands-on maintenance inspections
Implement upgrades generated by the rolling stock design team
Be based at one our train maintenance depots
Placement 2 - Major Projects
Experience the commercial aspects of Engineering at a pan-TfL level. This could be anything from Cycle Superhighways, bridges and structures, Crossrail 2 to Tube upgrades

Every day, we help millions of people to make journeys across London: By Tube, bus, tram, car, bike – and more. With the future at our fingertips, we’ve already used it to revolutionise travel payments (think Oyster and contactless payment cards), and improved travel information. Tech and data is essential, not just to our future, but to others’: third parties use our data to power apps and services vital to customer journeys. So what’s next? As well as continuing to deliver Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan’s strategy and commitments on transport, our programme of capital investments is still one of the largest. We launched the Elizabeth line, we’re modernising services and stations and making travel safer for all.
