What is the duration of the Medical Education Simulation Fellow position?
This is a one-year post.
How many simulation fellows are being recruited?
We are hoping to welcome 6 new simulation fellows to our team by September 2024.
What percentage of the post holder’s time will be spent in the Simulation Department?
At least 80% of the post holder’s time will be spent within the Simulation Department.
What types of training will the simulation fellows receive?
The fellows will be trained in operating simulation technologies, becoming simulation facilitators, receiving simulation debrief training, and learning theories of simulation-based education, along with human factors and non-technical skills training.
Will the fellows have opportunities to teach other medical educators?
Yes, the fellows will have opportunities to design, plan, and deliver practical and theory-based simulation workshops to develop new and established medical educators.
What kinds of courses will the simulation fellows be involved in?
The fellows will contribute to the delivery of the undergraduate simulation curricula and design, coordinate, and deliver a wide range of multi-professional simulation courses.
Is there an opportunity for research in this role?
Yes, the fellows will take a lead role in the development and delivery of research into medical education with a focus on simulation.
