Requirements

  • University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:
  • University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
  • Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.
  • Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
  • Current enrollment in a Computer Vision, Medical Image Analysis, Machine Learning, or related fields degree-seeking program at the Master’s or Doctorate level.
  • Passion for developing technologies to improve the lives of patients and physicians.
  • Self-motivated, self-disciplined, able to work independently.
  • Ability to perform fast prototyping iterations; thinking outside the box to solve practical problems.
  • Solid knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desired: (1) geometric computer vision: SLAM, SfM, pose estimation, (2) image segmentation and registration, (3) machine learning or deep learning.
  • Proficient in Python and/or C++; able to produce both prototypes and high-quality code.
  • Familiar with standard computer vision, medical image processing and/or machine/deep learning packages.
  • Experience with CUDA/ITK/VTK, and/or physics-based simulation is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Experiment with different computer vision and machine learning models.
  • Prototype algorithms and evaluate performance.
  • Draft reports and presentations.
