Description

  • Innovation is imagining what’s NEXT when no one else can. Shaping your future starts here, as we believe our Gen>NEXT students are the future leaders of BMW. Our vision is to secure BMW Manufacturing’s excellence by attracting the best of the best. We believe in creating a hands-on environment where you can directly impact the future of mobility. You will be guided and mentored throughout inspiring tasks and projects. As one of our Gen>NEXT students, you will be part of the team from day one and encouraged to add new ideas and value to the business.
  • This is a co-op position which requires three alternating rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: fall, 2nd rotation: summer, 3rd rotation: spring).
  • This position will be responsible for helping to design metrology processes for new launch vehicles as Plant Spartanburg enters the era of vehicle electrification. This position works closely with Body Shop Production and Total Vehicle Quality to define Plant Standards. The student will be exposed to the entire manufacturing process from the beginning to final shipment to customer. Students have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the entire BMW Group.
  • The student will support the Metrologists on the team with various projects such as, but not limited to process improvement of inline metrology applications, design of measurement processes, and statistical analysis of data. Other smaller projects could include CAD design work in CATIA and Python script writing for automation.
  • The student will be joining the Body Shop Metrology group who is responsible for guaranteeing a conflict-free geometric and dimensionally accurate body for series and new model production. The team steers the quality of the product through internal processes and by working directly with production organizations.
