Responsibilities

  • The Model Risk Management (MRM) team is seeking an intern that is currently pursuing a four-year or graduate degree in Statistics or Data Science, or related field, who has extensive experience creating original code using the R programming language. The MRM intern will create a code library of statistical test scripts to be used to assess the performance of a variety of models. It is not expected that the intern will have experience with every type of statistical test needed. However, the intern should have a strong statistical background and be able to easily translate mathematical and statistical formulae (that may be new to them) into useable R scripts.
  • The MRM intern will be primarily responsible for creating a code library of R scripts. However, the intern will have the opportunity to participate in other aspects of Model Risk Management other than writing code. Other opportunities may include assisting in the completion of a Model Validation report, participating in the Annual Model Discovery and Review processes, and participating in the presentation of results to the Model Governance Committee.
  • The summer intern is responsible for completing a project for a specific business unit or team. Projects will vary based on business need, and project plans can evolve through the selection process. Interns will spend the majority of their time on an individual project assignment. The summer intern is also responsible for developing skills relevant to their performance and professional development.
  • The summer internship program is 10 weeks beginning in late May and ending in early August. The internship program begins with a mandatory Orientation and ends with mandatory project presentations. Start dates may be flexible depending on individual circumstances, pending ability to attend Orientation.
