What qualifications are required for this position?
A Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (with a preference for accounting or finance) is required. Additionally, candidates should be completing or working towards the prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
Is prior experience in tax or accounting necessary?
Previous tax or accounting-related office experience is considered an asset, but it is not strictly necessary.
What type of clients will I be working with?
You will be providing tax advice for U.S. citizens living in Canada, U.S. residents working in Canada, and Canadians working and investing in the U.S.
Will there be opportunities for travel in this role?
Yes, there is a requirement to maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.
What are some responsibilities of this position?
Responsibilities include assisting in tax return preparation, carrying out cross-border tax and estate planning, evaluating business processes, corresponding with clients and government agencies, and preparing technical reports and presentations.
