What is the duration of the internship?
The internship is fixed term until 31/03/26 and is part-time for a duration of 26 weeks.
Who can apply for this internship?
Current undergraduate students studying a degree related to health and social care, such as psychology, speech and language therapy, or nursing, are eligible to apply.
What are the main project areas available for the internship?
The available project areas include people’s experiences of cancer screening and care, substance-involved sexual violence characteristics and outcomes, and the impact of culture, gender, and class in UK maternity services.
What skills and experiences will interns gain?
Interns will gain valuable research skills, including developing research questions, literature searching, patient and public involvement activities, and applying qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods data analyses.
Will interns have the opportunity for networking and training?
Yes, interns will have access to an extensive training and supervision program and opportunities to network with MSc and PhD students, as well as academic staff.
Is there a possibility for presenting research findings?
Yes, interns will be invited to present a poster or oral presentation at the PsyCen Postgraduate Research Conference and may also have opportunities for conference presentations and publications.
What is the closing date for applications?

Do candidates need the right to work in the UK?
Yes, applicants must have the right to work in the UK as the position does not qualify for university sponsorship for new applicants to the Skilled Worker visa route.
