Responsibilities

  • Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
  • Performs all tasks according to White Plains Hospital (WPH) and the Pharmacy Department’s policy and procedure.
  • A pharmacy intern may, as determined by the commissioner's regulations, practice as a pharmacist under the immediate personal supervision of a licensed pharmacist. NYSED Article 137 §6806
  • Compliance with all elements of the Pharmacist, Pharmacy Assistant and Pharmacy Transporter training tool and job descriptions.
  • Integrates customer service into work practice.
  • Answer telephone with courtesy and promptness.
  • Performs work to maintain regulatory compliance of the pharmacy department.
  • Abides by current hospital requirements for infection control.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement (PI) Initiatives.
  • Utilizes appropriate steps in the decision making process to include recognition and priority setting related to pharmacy work flow issues.
  • Cooperative and professional through response to change, assistance to peers and effective communication among the health care team.
  • Successfully completes WPH and Pharmacy department’s competency requirements.
  • Attends mandatory in-services.
  • Attends staff meetings as required/ requested.
  • Utilizes cost containment practices.
  • Adheres to all WPH policies and procedures including dress code, code of conduct, customer service, attendance and submission of annual physical.
  • Flexible in staffing and adjustment to assignments.
