Responsibilities

  • The pharmacy student (intern) assists pharmacists to provide pharmacy services including the evaluation and input of licensed independent practitioner orders/prescriptions, and the technical functions of drug procurement, preparation, and distribution.
  • Assist the pharmacist in all phases of drug distribution and monitoring.
  • Fill orders and manage inventories for floor stock.
  • Refill, exchange, charge, and credit medications.
  • Compound IV mixtures according to policy.
  • Fills orders and refill and stock medications for all departments and affiliates, including management of automatic dispensing units when assigned.
  • Support the clinical functions of the department by assisting the pharmacist in retrieving data, screening profiles and doing calculations.
  • Serve as a back up to other support positions.
  • Complete assignments designed to compliment the academic learning requirements of pharmacy licensure and practice.
  • Promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abide by service behavior standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
