What will I be doing in this role?
You will be involved in detailed technical discussions with customers, architects, public authorities, and landowners, focusing on the design, costing, and quoting of projects such as new electricity supplies and the replacement or reinforcement of existing electricity network assets.
How long is the apprenticeship program?
The apprenticeship program takes around three years to complete, with the initial 10 - 12 weeks spent in induction training at one of the Training Centres.
What qualifications do I need to apply?
You need a GCSE in English and Maths (Grade A*-B/9-6) and one of the following: A Levels in Maths and a Science (Grade A*-C), HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or a Degree in Maths, Physics, Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
Will I receive training during the apprenticeship?
Yes, the apprenticeship includes on-the-job training, formal courses at training centers, and mentoring from experienced Network Planners.
Are there placements involved in the apprenticeship?
Yes, you may need to undertake placements for up to two weeks at a time during the first two years, with accommodation and travel costs covered.
