Requirements

  • Students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical engineering or other Science, Mathematics
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge of CAD software
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
  • Team oriented and able to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Willing to spend time out in the field getting to know the business first hand.

Responsibilities

  • This position reports to Corporate Engineering, working closely with the site production, maintenance and support groups. The task will include duties such as capital improvement projects, equipment reliability improvement proposals, environmental impact reductions.
  • Assist with implementation of in-progress approved projects.
  • Identify projects which benefit the facility in areas such as;
  • Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment
  • Develop cost and timing for potential capital projects.
  • Develop Business Case in support of expenditure.
  • Investigate and develop solutions for issues raised by site staff.
  • Attend site meetings to ensure alignment with projects and current issues.
  • Create a presentation at the end of your internship to executive leadership regarding what you have learned and what you believe you have contributed to the business.
  • Transition New Products through development of effective manufacturing processes and equipment operation working collaboratively with a multi-functional team to achieve success.
  • Perform trials, studies and capability analyses as needed to effectively understand and improve process capabilities. Demonstrate use of statistical methodologies to understand, analyze and drive reduction in process variation in facilities.
  • Support development and implement action plans for continuous improvements and cost savings. Optimize production processes by driving safety, quality & efficiency.
