Description

  • Our Design Internship is designed to provide each intern with meaningful and robust projects that impact our product development process. Interns dive into substantial projects, making a tangible impact during the course of the summer. Projects have concrete goals and objectives but allow plenty of room for exploration and problem solving. We offer a supportive environment where interns can test, fail, iterate and launch products while building a solid design skills foundation, awesome connections across Klaviyo and have fun while doing so.
  • As a Design Intern, you will join a team and be involved in various aspects of the product development process. Responsibilities will range from conducting research, brainstorming ideas, design flows and wireframes, prototyping the experience and interacting with customers to perform usability testing. Interns will collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and customer support.
  • Interns will also work with the design team to participate in design critiques and seek to improve the overall UX of our product. They are expected to actively seek a deeper expertise in their skills and knowledge within the design process. 

Requirements

  • At least one previous internship experience, with a focus in design .
  • Graduating in Dec 2024 - May 2025 with a BA/BS in Design or similar field
  • Portfolio showcasing at least one project that highlights your product design expertise
  • Passion for users and bringing their voice to life in products
  • Proficiency in multi-platform design (mobile, web, desktop)
  • Ability to deliver design artifacts across all levels of fidelity - from wireframes to high-fidelity visual designs
  • An understanding of UX research techniques like storyboarding, journey mapping, user interviews, and usability testing
  • Experience using design systems or style guides in your work
  • Experience with design tools, especially Figma
  • Strong communication and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality designs and presentations on outcomes
  • Ability to work well across complex teams and feel comfortable working with a wide range of customers and stakeholders
  • Experience using design systems or style guides is a plus
