Requirements

  • Educational Background: You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree granting program.
  • Previous Experience: Must have a portfolio of UX work for us to review, including wireframes and prototypes
  • Design Tools: Experience with user experience design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe XD, Axure, or Omnigraffle)
  • User-Centered Design: Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, with the ability to create designs that prioritize the user experience.
  • Prototyping & Wireframing: 1+ years of experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes at different levels of fidelity.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, including collaborating with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineers.
  • Passion for Data Products: Interest in AI, data visualization, or business intelligence products.
  • Must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2025. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2025, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2025. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 16-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design User Interfaces (UI): Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for internal data products, including AI, BI, and ML applications.
  • User Experience (UX) Research: Conduct user research, interviews, and testing to understand user needs and pain points, translating these insights into design solutions.
  • Wireframes & Prototypes: Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to illustrate design ideas and concepts, ensuring alignment with product vision and requirements.
  • Iterate Designs: Present design decisions, gather and incorporate feedback from customers, refining designs based on user testing and product team input.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers to ensure that design solutions are feasible, aligned with our goals, and improve overall user satisfaction.
  • Design Documentation: Prepare detailed design specifications and user flows to ensure seamless implementation by the development team.
  • Stay Current: Keep up to date with UI/UX trends, tools, and best practices, applying relevant insights to improve product experiences.
