Requirements

  • Experience or concentration in at least one of the following areas: Public Health, Animal/Human Health, Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics or Epidemiology. Candidate must be proficient in MS Office Software and SQL. Experience using SAS, Python, R, AWS, Tableau, Appian, Power BI and/or ServiceNow is a plus. Good organizational skills and work well under deadlines.
  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree from an accredited school of public health or closely related discipline
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution in related
  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Submit an official transcript

Responsibilities

  • Perform identification of trends, linkages, and relationships, draw inferences (answer the questions) using statistical models for real world questions and scenarios for data (food, drug, devices) collected from diverse sources. – Designing an analysis plan and conducting analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. –Conducting program evaluation and needs assessment of public health, public health informatics, and surveillance programs in local, state, national, or international programs. – Preparing reports and presentations of program data findings and recommendations. –Interns’ actual assignment depends on FDA’s needs. Biweekly progress reports are required on project progress. This paid internship is part-time for the Spring semester 2024 depending on interns’ availability and assignment. The Leidos public health intern will be mentored by Leidos public health professionals.
