Requirements

  • Candidate pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Geography, GIS, Planning, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related program.
  • Experience in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Premiere Pro
  • Experience preparing GIS products in accordance with DOT standards and guidance principles desirable
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
  • Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.
  • Machines, Tools and Equipment:
  • Operate standard office equipment (i.e., personal computer, scanning, copy machine, etc.)
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be highly detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills;
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks as assigned;
  • Must communicate well with others; and
  • Must be able to work independently and manage time wisely.
  • Physical/Mental Demands:
  • Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 10-15 pounds occasionally
  • Working Conditions:
  • Travel via automobile and work in field environment 10% of the time.
  • Work in indoor office environment 90% of the time.
  • Moderate noise level

Responsibilities

  • Transportation Planning, NEPA, SEPA, or Corridor Studies
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Develop cartographic products
  • Assist with preparation of items for project public meetings
  • Assist with social media strategies on various platforms
  • Coordinate and participate in public meetings and design charettes
  • Assist with newsletters, brochures, postcards, mailing list
  • Assist with outreach efforts for projects and community events
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Candidate may assist in the preparation of reports, studies, plans, impact analyses, permit applications and other planning and engineering documents
  • Experience in Environmental, Engineering and/or Transportation Planning disciplines preferred
