Requirements

  • Hands-on instruction to an agency environment including:
  • A basic knowledge of how to work with print and electronic media
  • Specialized writing skills such as news releases, media advisories, pitch letters and other media materials
  • Exposure to project coordination and execution
  • Exposure to account management and program development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates will have completed their junior year of college with a focus in journalism, public relations, communications, English or a similar major. Ideal candidates will be available for three full days in the office.
  • Qualified candidates must be committed to cultivating diverse teams and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interns will work closely with FleishmanHillard account staff to execute public relations and social media responsibilities on behalf of local, national and international clients. Responsibilities will include supporting monitoring/reporting, conducting research, developing and writing media materials, assisting with social media content/strategy, and fielding requests as appropriate.
