Who can apply for the QUEST Professional Placement Year position?
This vacancy is open only to students of the University of Reading who are reaching the end of their second year and are on a degree with a professional placement year or are looking to convert onto this degree program.
When does the placement role start?
The placement role starts over the summer of 2025.
What will the placement work involve?
The placement will incorporate field, laboratory, and office-based work in the fields of Quaternary Science and Environmental Archaeology, including borehole surveys, deposit recording and interpretation, sediment characterisation techniques, and assisting in laboratory operations.
What is the closing date for applications?
The closing date for applications is 31/03/2025.
When will the interviews be conducted?
Interviews will be conducted within the first two weeks of April 2025.

Is sponsorship available for candidates needing permission to work in the UK?
No, sponsorship will not be possible under the Skilled Worker Route for candidates who do not already have permission to work in the UK.
