What is the eligibility criteria for the Transitional Graduate Nurse Recruitment Program (TGNRP)?
Applicants must have graduated with a Baccalaureate of Nursing within the last 12 months and must not have already obtained a full-time or part-time position with AHS. They must also be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
What are the working hours for this position?
The shift pattern includes days, evenings, nights, and weekends, with a total of 42 shifts in a cycle over a 12-week period.
What is the pay range for this position?
Provisional Permit Holders will be paid between $35.87/hour and $43.82/hour. Upon registration, the rate will adjust to the applicable pay rate for a Registered Nurse.
Is previous nursing experience allowed for applicants?
No, this program is intended for new nursing graduates within the past year and is not open to individuals with previous nursing experience who have completed programs such as the Bridge to Canadian Nursing Program.
What additional requirements must be met if a candidate has not practiced as a Registered Nurse in the last five years?
Candidates must complete courses on CRNA Medication Management and obtain certification in Health Assessment Resources through NextGenU.
Is this position permanent or temporary?
This is a temporary part-time position with an end date of January 31, 2025.
What kind of support will new graduates receive in this role?
Transitional Graduate Nurses will work under the guidance of a health care team member and provide input in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
Are there additional benefits for working in Fort McMurray?
Yes, there is a Fort McMurray Allowance of up to $12,480 annually, payable on an hourly basis for all hours worked.
