Requirements

  • Incumbents must have successfully completed their first year of school in the Renewable Energy (Wind) program at Northeast Community College and must be required to complete an internship as part of the curriculum requirement of the program.
  • Incumbent will be required to complete a background check, physical, and drug screen prior to starting with the District.

Responsibilities

  • The Internship student will operate and perform maintenance on wind turbines, generators, governors, gearboxes, and associated equipment.
  • Locate and correct electrical and mechanical problems within the NPPD wind turbine facilities.
  • Perform, and on occasion, supervise the construction, maintenance, and operation of the NPPD electrical systems within the NPPD wind generation facilities, including sub-transmission and distribution lines, substations and equipment in a safe, efficient, and workman-like manner.
  • Accountable for other duties as assigned.
