Requirements

  • A current 2nd, 3rd or penultimate year undergraduate University of Edinburgh student
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • An interest in learning more about mathematics research and its applications
  • Knowledge of digital media including social media
  • Aptitude for project planning and working to timescales

Responsibilities

  • Develop external-facing web content for the School’s main website, showcasing the School’s research applications and impact in core strategic areas. Examples include climate and sustainability, data and AI, and healthcare (40%)
  • Design and create digital content such as social media campaigns and digital screen content, to summarise research and its applications (30%)
  • Research examples of best practice for research communications from other HE providers (10%)
  • Suggest processes to continue communication of research after the end of the internship (10%)
  • Gather or create resources to support academic researchers to best communicate their research to non-specialist audiences (10%)
