What is the duration of the internship?
The internship duration is 3 months, with an option to extend up to 6-9 months if the project is successful.
What is the pay rate for the internship?
Hourly pay will fall between $25-50 per hour.
What type of students are eligible to apply for this internship?
We are seeking highly motivated PhD students who are currently enrolled in their PhD program.
Will interns be working independently or as part of a team?
Interns will work in teams of 3-4, collaborating on design projects throughout the internship.
Is there a competition aspect to the internship?
Yes, interns will compete in a design competition to develop a measurement instrument, with the potential to win a prize for the winning team.
What skills are required for this internship?
Required skills include electronics and circuit design, signal processing, block diagram design, schematic design and PCB layout, embedded systems knowledge, test and measurement skills, simulation and modeling, and system integration and debugging.
Will interns receive mentorship during the internship?
Yes, each intern will be assigned a Coach/Mentor who will provide guidance on product functionality, relevant technical information, and interfacing with Keysight personnel.
Where will the internship take place?
The internship will be onsite at the Keysight Campus, where teams will work together in a physical workspace.
What will be the deliverables for the team during the internship?
Team deliverables will include Architecture Design, Block-Level Design, or Schematic Design, as well as early prototypes of the measurement instrument.
Are there opportunities for extension beyond the initial internship period?
Yes, if the initial 3-month design phase is successful, the internship may extend to 6-9 months for further development of the instrument or module.
