The candidate must have a valid driver's license, a Bachelor's level degree in environmental engineering, chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a related field of study, and be pursuing a postgraduate degree or have post-secondary experience in a related field.

The intern will assist the Process Engineer in planning and completing water resource recovery research projects, coordinating wastewater treatment equipment pilots, and collaborating with internal and external team members. They will also travel to different water resource recovery facilities, perform laboratory analyses on wastewater samples, and analyze overall plant operations.

The individual will work under the supervision of the Environmental Management Division’s (EMD) Research and Development group. The candidate must be a current or recent graduate from a recognized curriculum at an institution of post-secondary or graduate education majoring in a related field of study i.e. civil/environmental engineering, chemistry, biology, environmental science. Applicants are encouraged to submit a brief project proposal with their application/resume that will contribute to the academic research required to complete a postgraduate degree. Areas of particular interest to EMD include process intensification (e.g. densified activated sludge, thermal hydrolysis pre-treatment for anaerobic digestion) and nutrient removal and recovery.&nbsp;</li></ul>
