Requirements

  • Enrolled in University undergraduate or graduate technical program.
  • Prior experience in a fastpaced, production based manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of data analysis and data trend reporting.
  • Some knowledge of Industrial Safety Practices, such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), etc.
  • Lean Manufacturing and 5S knowledge.
  • Effective written, verbal, and email communication skills.
  • Ability to correctly read dials, gauges, mechanical indicators, and take appropriate action, to ensure equipment is working properly.
  • Computer literate with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and web based programs.
  • Ability to effectively perform a job functions requiring consistent, standing, walking, repetitive motion, bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently throughout the duration of the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Improve Quality Processes:
  • Improve product quality controls by working on assigned projects to move team from quality control to quality assurance mindset.
  • Shadow team to learn what process parameters impact product quality levels.
  • Collaborate with Quality Supervisor in performing additional testing needed during quality investigations.
  • Analyze and interpret quality data collected, then work with Quality Manager to set standards.
  • Manage Internal Safety Issues:
  • Participate as part of the Safety Team in order to improve safety awareness in the plant.
  • Engage with safety team and plant operations team to prepare for Annual Safety Audit.
  • Organize and file safety documentation and records.
  • Analyze and compile safety data in preparation for future improvements.
  • Assist Safety Manager in responding to requests and standards from National Safety Team.
  • Complete Quality and Safety Projects:
  • Collect and utilize data to make fact based decisions while completing improvement projects.
  • Ensure all finished goods meet customer and internally defined expectations. Help the Manager ensure defined specifications for our products are enforced by Quality team.
  • Work cross functionally with all plant departments to complete assigned projects on time and within budget.
