What is the role of a Sales Floor Volunteer?
The Sales Floor Volunteer is the first point of contact for customers in our charity shop, greeting them, assisting in finding items, answering questions, and helping to maintain an attractive and organized shop environment.
What are the typical tasks for a Sales Floor Volunteer?
Typical tasks include helping customers on the shop floor, promoting campaigns and instore sales, working on window and shop displays, keeping the shop tidy and clean, and assisting fellow volunteers and staff with customer queries.
What are the age requirements for volunteering?
We are unable to accept volunteers aged under 16.
Is this a paid position?
No, this is an unpaid voluntary position.
What benefits do I receive as a Sales Floor Volunteer?
As a volunteer, you will receive a 25% discount on donated goods and a 10% discount on new goods, unlimited support from Retail Trust, access to training and development, reasonable travel expenses reimbursement, refreshments, volunteer certificates, references, and long service awards, along with access to discounts with other retailers.
How many hours do I need to volunteer?
We welcome volunteers who can spare a few hours a week or just a couple of hours occasionally; the commitment is flexible.
Can I volunteer if I have an unspent criminal conviction?
No, we cannot accept volunteers with unspent criminal convictions.
Where can I find support during my volunteering?
You will have unlimited, free, and confidential support from Retail Trust.
Is prior experience required to volunteer?
No prior experience is required; we encourage anyone interested to join our volunteer team, and help is always available from the shop team.
