Requirements

  • Essential:
  • Awareness of a range of different undergraduate courses delivered within NTU
  • Psychology and the basic nature of their underlying disciplines.
  • Knowledge of some of the theories and evaluative research methods of relevance to Psychology.
  • Awareness of the background to Higher
  • Education provision and some of the key metrics involved (e.g., Graduate Outcomes, NSS, SfA, etc.).
  • Understands the broad nature of teaching and learning within NTU Psychology with relevance to teaching in mental health and counselling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to carry out quantitative and qualitative data analyses.
  • Excellent presentation skills. Ability to use various social media platforms.
  • Good administrative, IT, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
  • Excellent time management
  • Operate within accepted ethical and legal frameworks required within NTU. Able to use online survey data collection tools.
  • Able to write reviews of the literature in a concise and clear manner. Has successful experience of making oral presentations to audiences. Has experience of writing clear and succinct reports
  • Experience of handling quantitative and qualitative data
  • A current student on an NTU Psychology undergraduate sandwich course, who has successfully completed Level 5 of their studies.
  • Desirable:
  • Awareness of some of the specific challenges posed by developments in, for instance, decolonisation, digital and blended learning, etc.
  • Able to conduct literature searches in a systematic and thorough way.
  • Able to design research to test out hypotheses and research questions

Responsibilities

  • You will work as part of the friendly team helping to develop NTU Shield, a new well-being and mental health service for adolescents that will offer guided self-help provided by NTU undergraduate students, where you will:
  • Conduct a deep dive into the current NTU Psychology year 1 & 2 curriculum
  • Identify and suggest modifications to better prepare 2nd year students for SHIELD work experience
  • Collect and analyse staff and student feedback
  • Work in collaboration with our strategic partners Base51
