Requirements

  • Ruby, JRuby and Java knowledge
  • Familiarity with MVC frameworks such as Rails and Spring
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and problem solving skills
  • The motivation to go the extra mile, where necessary
  • Highly Desirable :
  • Experience in client-side web technologies (e.g. HTML5, Javascript, CSS)
  • Experience using memcached and Lucene/SOLR
  • Linux system admin experience, particularly in Cloud environments (i.e. Amazon Cloud Services)
  • Prior startup experience
  • Familiarity with social networking sites and best practices for integrating with them

Responsibilities

  • This developer's primary responsibility will be to lay the groundwork for our Rails-based infrastructure and assist in developing our web platform for managing auction creation, scheduling, invitations and social sharing.
  • The individual will work closely with senior engineer's and product management to prioritize and implement new features, and also work hand in hand with other front- and backend developers as well as interface with Copart's patented auction server technology.
  • This intern will work with Program Managers, Business Analysts, and other IT staff to understand requirements, and develop and modify existing applications built on Ruby.
