Requirements

  • For this role, you should have:
  • Proficiency in C or C++ (mandatory): strong programming fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures. Knowledge in Python is a plus.
  • Understanding of operating systems internals (e.g., taken at least one course in operating systems)
  • Understanding of computer architecture
  • Familiarity with a Linux development environment
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts is a plus, not required
  • Candidates should be enrolled in a CS, CE, or EE program, preferably at the master's level, and graduating at the end of 2023 or mid-2024.
  • Additional qualities of a successful candidate include:
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated track record of taking initiative and being resourceful
  • Ability to work collaboratively and solve problems
  • Strong communication skills, especially written
  • Enthusiasm!

Responsibilities

  • Are you interested in device drivers, embedded software, and working at the hardware-software interface? If so, this Summer 2023 internship offers the opportunity to work in Juniper’s Platforms Engineering Team, which writes embedded software for the Junos Operating System. This OS runs essential infrastructure deployed globally for routing, switching, and security. You would participate as a member of the development team, gaining experience and depth of knowledge through your project.
