What are the main responsibilities of the Legal Intern?
Primary responsibilities include conducting fact investigations and legal research, drafting legal documents, participating in client interviews and trial preparation, accompanying staff lawyers to court proceedings and legislative hearings, and engaging in all stages of prosecuting impact cases.
What qualifications are needed for this internship?
Minimum qualifications include being an energetic and motivated law student with a commitment to social justice and excellent legal, written, research, and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include coursework in relevant legal areas and proficiency in conducting complex legal analysis.
Is the ability to speak Spanish a requirement for the internship?
No, being bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus but not required.
Can students obtain academic credit through this internship?
Yes, we can help students obtain academic course credit through school clinical externship programs and/or satisfy pro bono volunteer requirements.
What is the work model for this internship?
