Requirements

  • Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by January 2027 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database concepts, including data structures, relationships, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with cloud database technologies (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) is a plus.
  • Some experience with scripting languages, particularly Google Apps Script or Python.
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and apply feedback in a technical mentorship setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Broadcast Operations Team consisting of the people, processes, and tools essential for the delivery of audio, metadata, data services and encrypted service authorizations over the SiriusXM satellite constellation.
  • Contribute to the operational implementation, configuration control, monitoring and incident response of all content delivery and satellite uplink systems.
  • Develop a proof of concept database with the potential for either a cloud-based or on-premise deployment, depending on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure the database aligns with real-time dashboard needs.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Gain exposure to cloud database environments and concepts, contributing to design and implementation.
  • Utilize Google Scripting or Python to facilitate data manipulation and automation tasks.
  • Document processes, best practices, and findings to support knowledge sharing and continuity.
