Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health or Safety Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of the intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term
  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered
  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with assurance and verification activities, including use of tools such as iAuditor, Intelex, etc.
  • Support incident investigations.
  • Manage and review documents (i.e.: data entry, taking minutes, filing etc.).
  • Manage data and updates to the iAuditor verification tool.
  • Analyze site-specific trends and incidents and report findings.
  • Gather/review/distribute safety-related statistical information and safety alerts.
  • Participate in hazard and risk assessments.
  • Interpret, communicate, and reinforce safety standards to workforce.
  • Support ongoing H&S initiatives.
