Responsibilities

  • Meets and greets patients as they arrive in their respective areas, assuring patient demographic information is correct
  • Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and equipment within room, including blood/body fluids following patient procedures, following all applicable infection control standards, OSHA guidelines, and federal, state and organizational guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Assists with patient transport to and from exam and procedure areas as indicated
  • As allowed by all applicable practice regulations and standards, supports patient care activities under the direct supervision of the Imaging Technologist, including patient positioning, preparation of involved equipment, transporting of portable imaging equipment, patient monitoring and patient education
  • Assists patients with reviewing history and consent forms, properly screens patients for appropriate clinical information
  • Contacts patients prior to appointments and giving preparation instructions
  • Performs clerical functions in IHIS as assigned and maintains patient confidentiality
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and stocks areas with appropriate supplies
