What department will I be working in as a Student Nurse Intern?
You will be working in the Ortho Trauma department.
What is the work schedule for this internship?
The schedule consists of four 12-hour shifts over a six-week period.
Where is the internship located?
The internship is located at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN.
What kinds of patients will I be working with?
You will work with patients who have musculoskeletal issues such as broken or fractured bones, arthritis, osteoporosis, joint replacements, and other injuries or diseases.
What are my responsibilities as a Student Nurse Intern?
You will provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), complete assigned nursing orders, observe and document patient status, assist in the development of care plans, and perform other tasks as assigned.
Are there any specific certifications I need to obtain?
Yes, you need to obtain a BLS Provider certification within 30 days of your hire date.
Do I need to have a certain level of education to apply?
Yes, you must have a high school diploma or GED and be accepted or enrolled in a nursing program at the time of hire.
