  • Amtrak is seeking an intern to support the Director, Demand Forecasting, in reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing demand data and models used to forecast Amtrak ridership and ticket revenue. This position will require the candidate to apply theoretical concepts to robust data sources and create meaningful insight that can be shared with senior leadership. Specifically, the candidate would provide analysis into the impact of various attributes like price, travel time, and service frequency/times. The internship is designed to provide an environment where the intern can both acquire new knowledge and hone his or her skills in a practical manner via a professional, office setting.


  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering, business (finance, accounting) or economics.
  • Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
  • Preferred qualifications:
