What is the purpose of the Greater Justice New York initiative?

What will the intern be responsible for?
The intern will create materials such as factsheets, infographics, and online tools to help stakeholders understand the initiative's key policy goals and supporting research, assist with projects on pretrial service and jail population reduction, and track news and trends related to criminal legal reform in New York.
What qualifications are needed for the internship?
Candidates should have the ability to take initiative, be creative in data visualization and design, have attention to detail, and demonstrate a commitment to racial justice and criminal legal reform.
What is the schedule for the internship?
The intern should be available to work up to 35 hours per week during the summer, with the internship dates falling between June 2nd and August 8th, allowing some flexibility for personal and academic schedules.
Where is the internship located?
The internship will be based in the Brooklyn, NY office of the Vera Institute of Justice, following a hybrid schedule where interns work in-office on an alternating schedule.
Is the internship paid?
Yes, the internship is paid, with compensation ranging from $16.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and performance.
