Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student) or
  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student) or
  • Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
  • Required Majors:
  • Chemistry or Biochemistry ( with specialization in Synthetic Organic preferred)
  • Required Skills:
  • Experience in a chemistry wet lab (required)
  • Knowledge and experience in instrumental analytics (e.g. UV-Vis, HPLC)
  • Familiarity with organic chemistry purification techniques (preferred)
  • Document work in electronic notebooks utilizing ChemDraw
  • Strong adherence to lab safety (required)
  • Other Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with chemists to design new reagents and formulations for cancer tissue diagnostics
  • Synthesize, characterize and/or test novel reagents on automated tissue stainers
  • Troubleshoot reagent issues as part of a project team
  • Use analytical methods to validate quality and assess functionality
