  • The Pathology Chemistry & Integrated Analytics (PCIA) department in Reagent Research & Design is part of a global team that performs research, development and customer support for immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH) and primary staining detection systems for tissue diagnostics. The PCIA group designs, synthesizes and characterizes rare reagent dyes, linkers, oligonucleotides and bioconjugates for all stages of in vitro diagnostics (IVD) development. The candidate will work with a team of chemists toward maturation of novel technologies for tissue assays used to diagnose many forms of cancer. 

Program Highlights:

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
  • Program start dates are in May/June
  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.


  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student) or
  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student) or
  • Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
  • Required Majors:
  • Chemistry or Biochemistry ( with specialization in Synthetic Organic preferred)
  • Required Skills:
  • Experience in a chemistry wet lab (required)
  • Knowledge and experience in instrumental analytics (e.g. UV-Vis, HPLC)
  • Familiarity with organic chemistry purification techniques (preferred)
  • Document work in electronic notebooks utilizing ChemDraw
  • Strong adherence to lab safety (required)
  • Other Preferred Qualifications:
