Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university with a major related to Sustainability and/or Environmental Science; a concentration in textiles is a big plus
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex data and information
  • Strong research skills with proactive approach to gathering information
  • Open-minded and collaborative
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop a robust and methodical rating system to improve our current Fiber Standards
  • Create a timeline and identify various deliverables and milestones to mark project progress and success
  • Conduct a gap analysis of existing frameworks and industry standards that evaluate and rate textile fibers and materials
  • Determine the most important impact categories to consider in our fiber standards (i.e. carbon, water, eutrophication)
  • Explore how circularity can be taken into account in our fiber standards as a new impact category
  • Assess innovative fibers by gathering qualitative data on innovations whose impact has not yet been quantified
  • Develop a process specifically to rank new fibers with a focus on regenerative fibers
  • Distill information from primary and secondary research into insights for regular check-ins with the team and project manager
  • Deliver a final presentation and summary report of the updated standards to the Sustainability team
  • Create and deliver cross-functional communication of the updated standards and update Fiber-related training materials accordingly
  • Other related project scope and support roles as mutually agreed!
