Requirements

  • To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a natural communicator but in addition we’d like you to have:
  • A relevant academic background
  • A “can-do” attitude is essential and being able to get things done
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to develop and learn new skills
  • A passion for pursuing hobbies or interests outside of school/college
  • You will be:
  • In your final year of A Levels (or equivalent) looking for a gap year placement of 9-12 months
  • Applying for your 1-year industrial placement as part of your university course
  • Going into university to study, or be currently undertaking a degree in, an engineering discipline or other STEM-related subject including physics or mathematics (for example)

Responsibilities

  • It is hard for us to say exactly what you will be involved in during your time with us, but we can guarantee that you will be involved in a variety of activities and develop knowledge and skills to provide you with a broad appreciation of a complex electromechanical product. Your work will add value from day one and you will be included in day-to-day tasks and take on responsibility alongside great people! Here are a few examples of the tasks you might lead and / or support with:
  • Hands on testing with the Versius System
  • Definition and execution of test protocols from system, user and risk related requirements
  • Developing scripts in Python to drive the System and analyse data
  • Assist with investigations of issues with the System or accessories
  • Creating jigs and fixtures to help with test or development activities
  • Developing process improvements to streamline test activities
  • We’re a high growth company and roles can change and evolve. You’ll be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Design Evaluation team that supports the team with delivering its objectives.
