  • Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an opening for a dynamic Systems Intern in our growing Rail Transit Systems Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.


  • Ability to travel or relocate as needed
  • Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-September)
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in electrical engineering or related fields
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

  • Receive field exposure to stations, MEP and systems
  • Develop preliminary engineering design and detail engineering design for facility electrical and traction power systems for people mover, light rail, heavy rail, and commuter rails systems
  • Perform field survey and field test
