Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with our lab and engineering teams to operate and maintain simulated commercial airline test environments.
  • You will be responsible for testing the user experience of an inflight connectivity and entertainment solution; including functional, operational, and performance requirements and user interfaces for customers.
  • In partnership with the engineering and automation teams, you will craft, build, and perform functional, performance, and failure-mode tests in an agile, continuous integration environment.
  • You will be interacting with teams that work together to build a complex and dynamic SATCOM networking system.
  • You will work very closely with dev-ops engineers (software developers and system engineers), network engineers, and customer account managers.
  • You will learn and understand new features, and how they work with the existing systems and/or add additional nodes to support the functions.
  • You will perform high level testing of the end-to-end systems along with these new features to validate that the solution is acceptable for customer delivery.
  • You will witness firsthand how the underlying technology is implemented to create a product.
  • In this role you will use your technical knowledge and your creativity to design new test methodologies and improve existing procedures to verify system requirements.
  • You will complete various tests, analyze data and document the results.
  • Working with various systems and subsystems will result in knowledge of the entire system which is a valuable skill set that can open many career growth opportunities within Viasat in testing, systems engineering and software development.
