Requirements

  • We are looking for undergraduates studying a Bachelor or Masters Degree (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc) in a Numerate, Scientific or Engineering subject who have the ability to work with and understand complex information, using an analytical approach to solving problems. Individuals with Higher Education/equivalent training and experience are equally considered. Ideally, you will have an interest in photonics, cameras and possess the following skills:
  • Practical skills in photonics (lab-work with photonics components such as optics, cameras, sensors, etc.)
  • Good data analysis skills and comfortable with refining test methods to improve data collection
  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Focus is placed on the ability to:
  • Shape solutions out of complexity
  • Cooperate and work in a team
  • Accept accountability
  • Influence key stakeholders
  • Manage yourself

Responsibilities

  • The electro-optics engineer tests and analyses the performance of camera systems for a variety of applications including sighting systems for land applications, periscopes and masts.
  • As an EO engineering intern, you will work closely with the EO and Algorithms teams in activities aimed at improving our physics based modelling of sensor systems. You will have the opportunity to carry out experiments, analyse measurements and report on your findings.
